250M leva investment for infrastructure projects on southern Black Sea coast
The southern coast of the Bulgarian Black Sea will see a 250 million leva investment for road rehabilitation, new road infrastructure and bridge repairs, according to the National Agency of Road Infrastructure (NARI), reported by Stroitelstvo Gradut.
Another 10 million leva will be allocated to road maintainance. The sections designated as prime targets for revamping are Nesebur-Ravda, Primorsko-Yasna Poliana, Tsareva-Rezovo and the overpass between Bourgas and Kableshkovo.
By June 2009, the the Bourgas-Sredets-Sozopol junction will be approved for reconstruction once a contract is signed with a construction company selected for the task. This junction is considered as one of the most vital infrastructure facilities of Bourgas and the entire region because it accommodates all traffic that passes through the southern Black Sea coast.
Meanwhile, the deputy head of the NARI, Hristo Slavchev, has stated at a meeting with the local municipal communities and local mayors that the procedures regarding lots two and four of the Trakia motorway are illegitimate and that the subsequent tenders will be cancelled.
Also on the agenda are issues revolving the waste and water treatment plants that are in dire need of rehabilitation and modernisation. Sunny Beach is set to have a new water and waste treatment facility built, whereas the one in Ravda is to be renovated and expanded.
