World Chess Federation’s (FIDE) will discuss the case of the denied participation of former world champion Vesselin Topalov in the World Chess Championship 2007 in Mexico.
FIDE’s summit will be held on June 23 and 24 2007 in Estonian capital of Tallinn , Focus news agency said.
In the end of May 2007 Bulgarian Chess Federation head Stefan Sergiev sent FIDE president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov Bulgaria ’s position on the changes in the rules for world champion selection.
After Topalov was denied the opportunity to play return match against Russian Vladimir Kramnik in 2007, he could at least take part in the world championship, Sergiev said.
Topalov lost the title after a series of matches against Kramnik. Russia’s grand master was accused of cheating during the games.
