The work on the SAPARD programme in Bulgaria will continue until October 12 2007, when all money on approved projects will have been distributed.
State agricultural fund head Dimitar Tadarukov said, as quoted by Focus news agency, that, according to preliminary prognosis, additional programmes have applied for SAPARD funding worth 50 million leva.
The Government will form a special committee by the end of August to decide on the programmes; there is a possibility that some projects be denied funding, Tadarukov said.
Four committees have examined 335 projects at a total value of 58.904 million leva, with only two of the projects not receiving approval.
Several agricultural projects worth nine million leva have been almost fully processed by the committees, Tadarukov said.
Other additional subsidies will aid agricultural institutions and producers from regions damaged by drought.
