Sevdalin Marinov, Bulgarian weightlifting coach working in Australia, received a professional ban for life due to involvement in a second doping scandal.
Marinov was punished for the possession of forbidden substances, Associated Press (AP) reported.
A former Olympic and world champion, Marinov tested positive for steroids in 2005. At that time he was still working in Bulgaria and was responsible for the junior competitors of the country.
According to regulations, a competitor who gives positive doping test for the second time gets a ban.
Bulgarian weightlifting federation president Anton Kodzhabashev said that the scandal was a matter in which Bulgaria was uninvolved. Marinov has been working for Australia for a long time, Kodzhabashev told Focus Sport agency.
