Bulgaria’s representative at the Eurovision song contest Elitsa Todorova and Sotyan Yankoulov said that they feel like winners.
The song Voda (Water), ranked fifth, the greatest success for Bulgaria’s music and culture, Todorova said.
Eurovision votes are based on country rather than song, Yankoulov said. The fact that Voda received support from many countries meant that it was the audience liked it.
Lyuben Kunchev, head of music department of Bulgarian National Television, which produced Voda, said that the song “carries Bulgaria’s temper.”
Kunchev quoted Russian performer and producer Filip Kirkorov as saying that Bulgaria’s duo made an ethno track that would be remembered forever.
Being oneself instead of repeating something already done is the key to success, Todorova said.
Todorova and Yankoulov promised audience in Bulgaria a unique concert in terms of scenography and multimedia. The concert will probably be held in October 2007.
