WATER BRINGS BULGARIA FIFTH PLACE IN EUROVISION
09:02 Mon 14 May 2007

Bulgarian song Voda (Water) of Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov won fifth place in the finals of the Eurovision song contest.

Besides the country’s highest ranking in the contest ever, Todorova and Yankulov won for Bulgaria the right to enter directly the finals of Eurovision 2008.

It was Bulgaria’s third participation in the contest and first reach to the finals.

Serbian Marija Serifovic received 268 points and won the contest. Ukraine, Russia and Turkey are the other countries in the top five.

Book-makers predicted victory for Serifovic, but Bulgaria’s ranking was a surprise, as they excluded it from the top 10 competitors.

More than 100 million people watched the finals of Eurovision and 42 national televisions aired it life.

It is very sad that the song "Molitva" is an absolute copy of the Albanian Song "Ndarja" by Soni Malaj. Shame on Serbia, and Shame on Europe!
