Varna Shipyard to cassation
15:00 Thu 09 May 2002

Pernik-based Evrometal company, which ranked second in the tender for Varna Shipyard, is to contest in the Supreme Cassation Court the ruling of Varna Court of Appeal, novinite.com reported on Wednesday.

The Court of Appeal did not consider Evrometal’s demand for stopping the assigning decree, transferring all the rights and ownership to the buyer. At the end of April the Varna Court decided to ignore the complaint of Pernik-based company Evrometal against the decision on Varna District Court to declare the shipyard’s ownership of Navigation Maritime Bulgare void.

Two offers were submitted on April 2 for Varna Shipyard – of the state-owned Navigation Maritime Bulgare (NMB) and Evrometal (a private company, which jointly with Greece’s Sidenor owns 75 percent of Bulgaria’s steel plant Stomana in Pernik). NMB won the tender.
