Two US soldiers were involved in a night club fight in the town of Sliven on the morning of March 25.

Both soldiers are members of the US air forces and came to Bulgaria for the joint aviation training Thracian Spring 07.

US ambassador to Bulgaria John Beyrle said that he is sorry that such incident happened. Local authorities should fully investigate the case and punish the culprits, he said as quoted by Focus news agency.

Such incidents happened but the US army was a victim in the case and full investigation was needed, Beyrle said.

The two soldiers were fined and recalled to the US military base in Germany.

According to eye witnesses the soldiers were intoxicated. Three men from Sliven were involved in the fight but are still unidentified.
