US presidential election blog: McCain, Obama and the final debate

Ahead of his third and final televised debate encounter with Barack Obama, John McCain was quoted as saying: "We've got them just where we want them". It seemed a strange thing to be saying after, in a few short days, a succession of five separate opinion polls gave Obama a double-digit lead over McCain.

It would also be wrong completely to write off McCain. He said so himself, a day before the October 15 (if you're in the US, October 16 for those in GMT and beyond) debate: "The national media has written us off. But they forgot to let you decide".

US presidential election campaigns have their own lifespan and logic not always apparent to observers in Europe and the rest of the world. Every debate has been hyped ahead of time, not least by the respective McCain and Obama campaigns as much as by the media, but this third and final one has the hallmarks of a campaign-wrap-up event, even though it is not.

There are still more than two weeks left before the elections on November 4. It is not as if the third debate will be the final spectacle, there will be a European-style day of contemplation, and voters will sedately make their way to the polls. However, especially for McCain, tonight needs to be a watershed - in fact, he desperately needs it to be a watershed.

Those interpreting the polls in the media, especially the poll by the New York Times/CBS, have noted that McCain's attempts to bring down Obama by raising the Bill Ayers issue appear to have backfired, including specifically because the McCain camp's attempts to link Obama to the former Weather Underground radical were rejected by those who wanted to hear about the economy. At the same time, McCain lost points by failing to raise the Ayers issue face-to-face with Obama in the second debate. And at the same time still, while McCain came out with an economic plan in recent days, his hard-core supporters want to see him "take the gloves off".

But it is not the hard-core that will decide the election, it is the swing states, the very ones that the polls suggest are swinging towards Obama. Without getting into the merits of McCain's economic plan, his campaign's mistake may have been in spelling it out too late. The mainstream media, which the McCain camp prefers to paint as liberal and intrinsically hostile to his campaign, has already moved on to debate previews - rather like this one, in fact. Strategically, releasing the McCain plan a day or two earlier would have been preferable.

Unfortunately, the timing of the plan makes McCain look slow-moving and behind the pace, outrun by Obama's marketing of his "Rescue Plan for the Middle Class". However, it is not over and McCain will have a chance to get in some infomercial moments in the third debate about his plan - provided that he says nothing new, as happened on previous occasions, when he appeared to be ad-libbing solutions.

All that McCain needs, in short, is to pull off about two miracles, but at least, no more than that.

As for Obama, he presumably was coached to engage with McCain over the Ayers issue before the second debate, prepared for an attack that never came. McCain has telegraphed that he will attack Obama on Ayers on this time, and now cannot fail to do so, at the risk of appearing to issue empty threats. Unfortunately for him, Obama has had even more time to prepare, along with a few reports from that same liberal, hostile media that have been cheerleading for Obama.

All Obama really needs to do is avoid mistakes and maintain the dignity that he has built up, and do this in the face of challenges from McCain who will (as both sides do to each other) seek to misinterpret Obama's economic policy; then the tall senator from Illinois need wait only for the gloved or presumably gloveless blow aimed with Ayers as a weight.

After 90 minutes it will be over, and the two candidates from rise from their seats, await the pundits and polls, and in time, it will become clear whether or not McCain really had Obama and his camp right where he wanted them.

On top of everything else (good policies, sound economic strategies, powerful endorsements, a steady hand, etc), the navigation of the Obama campaign is clearly superior to that of McCain. This team is showing they know how to strategize (and spell it), and they know how to execute. Compare this to the McCain team which appears consistently reactionary, lost, desperate, and defiant. The choice couldn't be clearer. I can't imagine anything McCain could possibly unveil tonight that would put him back in the race... no, wait. If he had Hillary Clinton as his VP pick, and if he had a comprehensive economic plan, and if he had a viable health plan, then maybe he could turn things around. But I really doubt he's going to announce every single one of those tonight. Instead, he'll probably just poke at irrelevant fear-mongering hot spots. Good night John, good night moon, good night Sarah with the red balloon. Sleep tight, America, in Ojamas. http://www.ojamas.us.

What about Earth? I was taught in university classes that the average life-span of a species on this earth is two million years. Our particular species of hominid, which we call Homosapiens—wise human—has been on this earth for approximately 100,000 years. If my professors are correct, we have 1.9 million years to go. Nonetheless, as I write this we are considering the possibility that as a species our days are numbered. We are off to a very rough start for “wise” humans. What other species destroys its own nest before its offspring is ready to leave? That is, fleeing to other planets after we destroy this one. What other species on this earth sets itself up for destruction? My first thought is of the lemmings, which, when overpopulated, engage in mass suicide by jumping at once into the ocean off a tall cliff. Are we preparing to make our own suicidal jump? We have some very bright minds among us, and we have come up with some remarkable inventions that can make life undemanding and painless, yet this same self-serving technology is, by way of creation, sometimes poisoning our planet with its byproducts: air and water pollution, landfill, toxic waste, etc. The more technology we create to serve mankind, the more I see (no t in all cases) that we destroy Earth, our nest. It’s our attitude about Earth I’m speaking of. How many feet can one drive down any road in the country and not see trash in the ditches? Have we stopped caring? Some of us still do, as is apparent in the new movement to “go green.” But the abundant trash along the road shows that not enough of us care. One atom of coal smoke, or a single aluminum can on the side of the road is still pollution, in my book. I believe that our basic tenet should be to build a new nest for our young, and see to their proper raising, before ALL ELSE. We should have asked ourselves in the beginning of our evolution as thinking men, “What will our advancement cost the earth? Let us start now, before we find it necessary to jump, to ask ourselves, each and every day, is what I’m doing to make my life easier worth the cost to the planet? Are we doing more future damage than present good? For example: When beavers build a dam to hold back a creek, and create a den for shelter and a home for their young, they actually produce a new ecosystem that is beneficial to all creatures in the surrounding forest. When humans build homes, do we always think of the ecosystem? When we build dams to hold back rivers, are we similar to the beavers producing a new ecosystem that is beneficial to its neighbors? The answer is an emphatic, NO! Research has shown it is one thing to dam a small creek, and decidedly another to dam a river and expect the same results. The Yangtze River in China is a perfect example of river damming gone wrong. In the United States we complain about swollen rivers inundating our cities, flooding our farms, destroying our crops, and taking our lives, but it is our roads, sidewalks, and cities of concrete and steel that will not allow the held-back water—when it rises above its unnatural banks—to be absorbed by the earth beneath them. When a natural—undammed—river, in an area without modern cities floods, the water runs off naturally, rising sometimes above its banks, but always nourishing the surrounding land in the process. Do we ever hear about the tragedies regarding the annual flooding of the Amazon? We might pick on George W. Bush, and claim his inefficacy, yet he lives in a modern “green” home on his ranch in Texas, in America. I don’t see anything wrong with this picture, presidential accomplishments lacking or not. Who are we to claim perfection? Each of our current presidential candidates have their separate opinions, tactics, goals and schedules for picking this country up and getting it back on its economic feet. I’m here to ask you, what does it matter? The minute one of them takes office it’s a whole new ball game, and I guarantee either of them will find it difficult to keep their promises. Whoever is elected will have to start pitching right away, with no warm ups. So getting back to the river: who do we trust, the beaver, or those who would create huge dams that completely change and derail the ecosystem(s)? Do we go “green” or pollute? Didn’t Senator Obama recently state that he would “require” businesses to bid for the “right” to pollute? Sounds like a “pay as you go” outhouse to me. And we all know an outhouse is simply a covered hole where we dump stuff and then cover it up. Senator Palin wishes to continue to preserve Earth while providing for future needs; she wants to build beaver dams that will protect and encourage our young while providing a nourishing and stable ecosystem for our neighbors. What does Senator Obama want to do? What can we expect from a person who at first claims to be Muslim, but when corrected, claims his faith is Christian, and then looks at the floor? I’ve seen the video; the implication cannot be misconstrued, yet the video should be taken at face value. I suggest we study his face. In what country are his true values? What it boils down to is this: who do you TRUST? Should we vote Democrat or Republican? At this point I believe it comes down to who you TRUST. I think we should write them all off except for Senator Palin. I say elect her for president. Next best thing is to Vote for McCain/Palin, and let her take over as we know she will. You know the old saying, “If Momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!” Let’s get Momma in the white house and we’ll all be happy. In writing the above I claim the right of free speech in the United States of America as a natural born, law-abiding, taxpaying American citizen. Disclaimer: I am not writing to accuse anyone of anything, but to cause everyone to question their motives in everything. I pray to God that we make the right decision for our country on Election Day. Not my will, but His. This advertisement is approved by the American, James K. Dawson

I WAS a REGISTERED DEMOCRAT. I did the ' Said & Done Test' on my 2 pres. choices. The results upset me very much, as I was very commited to voting-in our first black president. RESULTS showed Sen.Obama's plans, past, & statements like 'spread the wealth around,' & 'build from the bottom up,' ALL are Marxist-Communistic beliefs, which truly PUNISH SUCCESS. Sen.McCain's results clearly showed better plans to grow & change our existing democracy & capitalism, crating jobs, & lowering taxes. My decision to get to my BOTTOM LINE was formed by my many years of helping people in need. The ONLY WAY they got FREE from the HOLD of WELFARE, BAD TIMES, FEELIN' BAD, was to work at a GOOD JOB, with GOOD EDUCATION. The others were doomed to stay stuck in that place of unhappiness, no matter how much FREE food, FREE rent, FREE electric, FREE furniture & clothing I brought them. NONE of these FREE things helped to get them to a different & happier place. I STILL BELIEVE in our country's government of DEMOCRACY & CAPITALISM, which is the basis of our FREEDOMM. I hope & pray I will be alive to vote-in the RIGHT AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT, one day. I do know for sure, that Sen. Barack Obama is NOT that person. For now, I find some peace & strength in knowing my new party affiliation was the party that truly began the movement to FREE my ancestors from the horrors of slavery. I feel good & safe knowing I am making the right choice NOW, for me, for my business, for my country, and for those I will still try to help lead out of those stuck welfare places.

I think that the debate will be interesting and worthwhile for many voters. However, I doubt that we will see anything new. Obama will continue to appear poised, empathic, idealistic and realistic. He is extremely well-prepared with a plan to help the country to recover from this crisis. McCain will not be able to change anything, no matter what he does. Frankly, even if the most capable republican in the land replaced him and made the most powerful speech imaginable, it would be too little too late. Why should people vote for the swaggering McCain Palin ticket? They come across as clearly incompetent. McCain has no plan, except to use virulent attacks on Obama. The racists he would convince are already the converted. McCain has not stopped raving that he is the better leader, while Obama has quietly demonstrated that this assertion is simply nonsense. In any case, the undecideds are not the most intellectual voters and I doubt that the debate, no matter what the content will sway them much either way, since it will mostly go over their heads. The debate will be a confirmation that Obama will be a powerful statesman and leader who will elevate the United States to its former prestige and strength.

McCain is old and really can not help himself. He wants Obama to back off on attacking his narrow political views, yet the old man can only recite canned messages his consultants have been feeding him --- it is sad.

McCain is anti-American. No flag on the lapel? Terrorist.

John McCain is embarrassing. Its really sad to watch him. From his body language, to his pompous and arrogant demeanor, to his lack of focus and strategy - beyond attacking Obama. This would have been a perfect time for him to come out strong and forceful about whe HE proposes. He spends most of his time talking about Obama's plan than informing the American people about his plan. Quite frankly I would be mortified to have him as our leader and representative to the world...its like Bush all over again.

First of all, I don't think anyone is PRO-abortion. Fuck it, yeah, Kill all the babies! Pro-abortion is such a bullshit slanting of the issues. Secondly, for the former Democrat who changed over because he/she views Obama's plans as Marxist/Communist and making a welfare state. He's not advocating giving handouts and welfare, he's making improvements from within and allowing people to improve themselves by funding the things that No Child Left Behind wants but never provided funds for. McCain wants to offer new school reforms, create phy ed, and nutrition programs in schools (which exist already) but he also wants to put a spending freeze on. McCain is creating even more unfunded mandates. Just like any business sitution, if you don't put up the capital you don't see the profits.
Comments by Courtney - 05:27 16 Oct 2008
I feel that McCain needs to get straight to the point, he is avoiding the Questions by constantly saying that we must fix this and the american people know" He needs to say what he is going to do. He seems very incompetent!! He says that his plan will help save billions of people in america but he will not explain what he going to do. why is he catfighting with Obama is he showing us this is what we should do as the american people? GO OBAMA!!!

John McCain is truly part of the problem. Obama is clearly ready for the job of President. He addressed McCain's lies, he spelled out his policies. Yes we can.
Comments by Taylor - 05:34 16 Oct 2008
McCain could not have possibly any more arrogant cocky and disrespectful. He was too worried about his own hurt feelings than what WE the people care about.

Who does Obama think owns all those "big corporations" he wants to tax out of existence? Millions of little people - teachers, union members, firefighters, government employees and regular Joe Sixpack families - who have pension plans and 401(k) plans and investment clubs. Obama deliberately misrepresents the percentage of small businesses that exceed his $250,000 threshold for dramatically incre4ased taxes. He is a fraud and charlatan.
Comments by Matthew - 05:43 16 Oct 2008
John McCain is a joke! He's doing nothing but stirring the hornets nest at his rallies and inciting a mob mentality. He has no way of winning on the issues, so he's hoping that he can turn everyone against Obama because he's a black man! They keep calling him a socialist, not because of the concepts that define socialism, nothing under the umbrella of American democracy could truly be socialist. McCain is using this term as a cloaked racist remark that hearkens back to the same narrow minded world views of the 40s, 50s, and 60s where African American leaders were called communists and socialists because only under a these systems of government could a black man be viewed as equal to a white man. McCain can barely bring himself to look at Obama, and rarely speaks his name unless forced to. Again, he avoided shaking Obama's hand at the end of the debate. We stand with our feet on the doorstep of history. We can enter into a world that the majority of of the world has already entered, but the Republicans want nothing more than to keep us in the past, keep us in a world where the wealthy white man holds sway, and women don't have sexual or reproductive freedoms! The fact that McCain can with a straight-face discuss keeping an open mind in regard to the unbiased appointment of Supreme Court Judges...PLEASE! The RNC should be ashamed of themselves! Their time has come and gone the same way that segregation has become an unpalatable era of American history! Viva Obama, and rest in peace RNC! In all honesty, you will not be missed!

I think Joe Biden would be a better president if something happen to Barack Obama than Sarah Palin. She has never been in the White House and she does not know how it is ran. I think Barack is best. His veiws on changing the Economy is what I like. I HOPE OBAMA WINS!!!

John McCain is a joke!! He is a despicable sell out to the same greedy corporations and backers that Cheney and Bush have. He is a disrespect to our country and as far as I am concerned aligned with corporate terrorists! Yes Corporate terrorism exists and we need to deal with them like any other terrorist! Republicans are heartless and godless.

McCain showed himself as a big sissy! All upset because of negative campains and complained about Baracks negative ads. Well hell he started it for Kripes sake! AND the man was fighting back, and he's allowed to do that! And McCain wanted a dam apology. Well Palin didn't apologize when she incited folks to yell out "Terrorist" and "Kill Him." She just smiled and kept on talkin' McCain has the nerve to be upset by what was Suppose to be said about him and Palin BUT shit, all he could do was keep trying to tie Mr. Obama Ayers and someone else I don't even know! Mr. Obama is very Presidential. McCain is a BIG LYING SISSY!!

So far, all the conclusions by all the pundits are totally based upon POLLS. Not a single actual vote has been cast yet. Obama supporters gush at how well their man has done in the debates, which proves once again that Obama is a good debater and a good speaker. It doesn't say anything about his character, judgement, or what kind of a leader he would be. I still would rather trust a man who would not sell out his fellow prisoners, even during 5 years of torture, than to trust a man who betrayed a 20 year friendship, for personal ambition. And ... regarding this election, until people actually vote ... it ain't over till it's over!

Am I the only one that noticed the post-debate comment by McCain, when they were shaking hands and he said to Obama "Good job, you got 'em." It was as if their mics were supposed to be turned off at that point and they weren't. I figured the media would be all over it (and I'm always up for some media circusing), but haven't seen anything on it.

NOTE TO TERI, YOU ARE VERY CONFUSED. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY THAT EXISTS NOW IS NOT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY THAT STOOD UP AGAINST RACISM AND HELP FIGHT AGAINST SEGREGATION AND THE RIGHT TO VOTE FOR AFRICAN AMERICANS. BACK THEN THEY WERE THE SOUTHERN WHITE DEMOCRATS THAT WERE HOLDING ON TO THE RACISM, SEGREGATION, AND THE RIGHTS OF MINORITIES AND WOMEN. IT WASN'T UNTIL THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT WAS PASSED IN THE SIXTIES THAT THE THEN DEMOCRATS BECAME REPUBLICANS. EVEN THE DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT AT THAT TIME MADE A STATEMENT, "BY SIGNING THIS CIVIL RIGHTS ACT INTO LAW, WE HAVE LOST THE SOUTHERN DEMOCRAT (OR RACIST, SEGREGATIONISTS, ANTI-WOMEN'S AND VOTERS RIGHTS, ETC...) FOR TWO GENERATIONS (80 YEARS). WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE. NOW THESE SAME PEOPLE ARE USING THE BIBLE AND FEAR, I'M A PASTOR MYSELF, TO SEPERATE AND DIVIDE AND CONQUER THE MASSES. JOHN MCCAIN'S BIG LINE IS THAT HE'S NOT BUSH, BUT THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT HE SIDED WITH HIM AND SUPPORTED HIM EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. THE WHOLE COUNTRY THINKS WE'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY. IF THAT'S TRUE AND IT IS, THEN THE WHOLE COUNTRY REALLY AGREES WITH BARACK OBAMA WHO OPENLY FOUGHT AGAINST THEIR FAILED POLICIES. IF IT WASN'T FOR THESE PULPIT BULLIES THAT ARE GETTING RICH OFF FROM THEIR CONGREGATIONS, AND THE FACT THAT MANY WILL NOT VOTE FOR HIM SIMPLY BECAUSE HE IS A BLACK MAN, THIS WOULD BE A MAJOR LANDSLIDE. (AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON SARAH PALIN. IT IS SO OBVIOUS THAT SHE IS OUT OF HER ELEMENT AND NOT IN THE LEAST BIT QUALIFIED).

Barack Obama is dangerous. His plan is to turn change our form of government from a Republic to a true Socialist state. With a democratically controlled house and potentially a filibuster proof senate, he can do anything he wants. Watch your taxes rise, free speech be eliminated, and businesses close in droves across the country from his economic depressing policies. He must be stopped at all costs.

DEAR CLUMPER, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU ARE AWARE OF THIS BUT WE ARE SPENDING 12 BILLION DOLLARS A MONTH IN IRAQ. ACTUALLY IT'S DOUBLE THAT BECAUSE THEY DON'T COUNT THE MONEY SPENT BY THE CONTRACTORS AND THE PAID CIVILIAN (BLACKWATER) ARMY THAT HAS BEEN OPERATING OVER THERE THE WHOLE TIME. SO AS SENATOR OBAMA AND MOST OF AMERICA WANT TO DO IS BRING THE TROOPS AND CONTRACTORS HOME (THAT'S 24 BILLION A MONTH) AND USE SOME OF THAT MONEY TO HELP CORPORATIONS RE-TOOL SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE BETTER AND MORE AFFORDABLE CARS ETC... WHICH WILL CREATE NEW JOBS HERE IN AMERICA. NOW THE ONLY WAY THAT THEY CAN QUALIFY FOR THIS MONEY IS TO HAVE THE PLANTS HERE IN AMERICA AND PUT OUR PEOPLE BACK TO WORK. ALSO TAXING THE WEALTHY AND BIG BUSINESSES THAT HAVE ALL OF THEIR LABORERS OUTSIDE OF AMERICA AND SELL ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS IN AMERICA WHICH CAUSES US TO HEMERRAGE JOBS AND SMASHES THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNER BECAUSE HE CANNOT COMPETE WITH WORKERS BEING PAID $17.00 A MONTH. ALSO HE WANTS TO USE SOME OF THAT MONEY TO HELP RE-BUILD OUR INFRASTRUCTURE WHICH WILL CREATE GOOD PAYING JOBS FOR AMERICANS WHO WILL ALSO PAY TAXES AND BUY THINGS IN AMERICA. HE ALSO WANTS TO TAKE SOME OF THAT MONEY (IT'S ALOT OF MONEY) AND HELP CORPORATIONS GO GREEN WHICH WILL CREATE MORE JOBS FOR AMERICANS AND HELP THE ECOLOGY IN AMERICA. THIS WILL ALSO START WEANING US OFF FROM FOREIGHN OIL WHICH WILL FORCE THE PRICE DOWN WHICH WILL PUT MORE MONEY IN OUR POCKETS AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON. WHY ARE YOU SO CONCERNED FOR THE TOP ONE PERCENT IN THIS CONTRY. THEY WILL NOT BE HURT BY THIS AT ALL. INSTEAD OF MAKING HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS PROFIT FOR THEMSELVES THEY WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO POCKET BILLIONS (WHO SOUNDS UN-AMERICAN TO NOW). IN THE LAST SEVEN YEARS OF THE MCBUSHY ADMINISTRATION, THE TOP RICHES FOUR HUNDRED FAMILIES ALONE HAVE POCKETED (NOT COMPANY PROFIT) BUT POCKETED OVER A TRILLION DOLLARS. THEY ARE NOT BROKE AND IT WILL NOT HURT THEM TO PAY A LITTLE MORE TAXES. I USED TO THINK THAT THEY WERE REALLY STUPID FOR DESTROYING THE MIDDLE CLASS AS IT ONLY SERVES TO HAVE LESS PEOPLE THAT CAN SPEND MONEY ON THEIR GOODS BUT AFTER WATCHING THIS BUNCH FOR THE LAST SEVEN YEARS IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THEY ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH HAVING ALMOST EVERYTHING AAND THAT THEY WILL ONLY BE SATISFIED WHEN THEY DO OWN EVERYTHING AND PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME ARE NOTHING MORE THAN SHARE CROPPERS. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE PLEASE!

Watching the election process and the responds of the American people. This is so scary. It seems that basically 50% of the population is idiots. If they can’t see what is coming when Obama win the election, Idiots. This is America not a small country like Kenya or Zimbabwe. Tax the small business will stop growth and kill jobs. If you people think it is hard times now, Think again this is nothing compare to what Obama has planed for you. But there will be idiots that won’t agree with me. That is why I call them IDIOTS. They are so stupid they don’t relies they make a life decision here and can’t reverse it. May be John McCain’s policy is not 100% but you know what you get. Talking about Sarah Palin!. What happened to the mentality of what was called great Americans? It is absolutely a disgrace that people attract a person this way. If the Sarah Palin only wants to give the American people the best. I don’t have any bonds with America and do not speak English well as you can read, But to come back to the IDOITS, May be they deserve to have a new president like Obama. America was on the top of the world for to long. May be it is time for the Idiots to live the Zimbabwe or Africa stile. Vote Obama and be happy Idiots !!!!!

DEAR PETER, I YOUR CONCERNS ARE HALF WAY LEGITIMATE IF THEY WERE TRUE. THE BIG PARTY LINE IS THAT OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS WANT TO TAX SMALL BUSINESSES IS A CAMPAIGN LIE THAT IS TOLD OVER AND OVER AND OVER BY THE REPUGNANT ONES. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS, AND FACTCHECK AND EVERYONE INCLUDING THE UNITED STATES CHAMBER OF CONGRESS WHICH IS ALSO RAN BY MCBUSH APPOINTEES, CLAIMS THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE. OBAMA WANTS TO TAX THE EXTREMELY WEALTHY AND THE COMPANIES THAT OUTSOURCE ALL OF THEIR WORK AND THEN SELL ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS HERE. THIS IS A FAR CRY FROM TAXING SMALL COMPANIES. LET'S FACE IT, WE HAVE BEEN TRYING IT THEIR WAY FOR YEARS AND THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNER IS SUFFERING. IN FACT THEY ARE DISAPPEARING BECAUSE THEY CAN'T COMPETE WITH THE VERY LARGE AND WEALTHY COMPANIES BECAUSE THEY PAY NO TAXES AND GET CHEAP LABOR OVER SEAS. THEY HELP GET SOMEWHAT OF A LOWER PRICE TO CONSUMERS (WALMART FOR INSTANCE) BUT THEY DO MORE HARM BECAUSE THEY RUN SMALL BUSINESSES OUT OF COMMUNITIES AND COST AMERICANS JOBS BY THE MILLIONS. IT IS BECAUSE OF THEM THAT FACTORIES ARE BEING CLOSED AND WORKERS ARE IN DESPAIR. IF MOST PEOPLE HAD ANY SINCE, THEY WOULD ALSO KNOW THAT WE NEED ALL OF THOSE FACTORIES BACK FOR OUR NATIONAL SECURITY. THAT'S HOW WE WON WWI AND WWII BY TRANSFORMING THE STEEL PLANTS, THE AUTO PLANTS AND THE TEXTILE PLANTS TO MAKE BOMBS, VEHICLES, AND UNIFORMS. THE MCBUSHY'S HAVE GOT TO GO FOR THE SAKE OF OUR COUNTRY AND FOR THE SECURITY OF OUR CHILDREN. STOP LISTENING TO THE PUNDITS AND DO SOME RESEARCH FOR YOURSELF AND YOU TOO WILL BE ENLIGHTENED ENOUGH TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOUR COUNTRY.

WHO IS JOE THE PLUMBER? IT IS AMAZING THE LENGTH AND THE FRAUD THAT REPUGNANTS WILL GO TO TO GET ELECTED. JOE THE PLUMBER IS REALLY JOE WURZELBACHER WHO IS THE SON OF ROBERT WURZELBACHER WHO IS THE SON OF CHARLES KEATING (THE KEATING FIVE CRIMINAL SCANDAL THAT MABUSH WAS DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN AND ONLY RECEIVED A CENTURE BY HIS OWN PARTY FOR HIS ETHICS) WHO WAS THE SENIOR VP OF THE INFAMOUS LINCOLN SAVINGS AND LOAN. HE WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A CHEAP (PROBABLY VERY EXPENSIVE TO MCCAIN AND AND MC PALIN) CAMPAIGN PROP THAT THEY THOUGHT WOULD SNEAK BY US WITHOUT ANY INVESTIGATION. P.S. AS FAR AS HIS UNDECIDED CRAP, HE'S DONATED ABOUT $10,000 TO THE GOP PARTY AND $0.00 TO THE DNC.
