11:31 Tue 01 May 2007

Bulgaria has been taken out of the US special monitoring report on intellectual property violations.

The US Trade Representative Special 301 Report includes countries that have violated intellectual property rights and should undergo monitoring.

Apart from Bulgaria, the Bahamas, Latvia and Croatia have been taken out of the list of countries, where the distribution of illegal copies of US films, music and software programmes is a regular practice, Associated Press reported.

The annual report said that Russia and China show signs of improvement but piracy there is still prominent.

Special 301 Report includes Argentina, Venezuela, Egypt, India, Israel, Lebanon, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Chile.
