The US brought B-2 Stealth bombers to the military bases in Bulgaria, getting ready for an eventual attack on Iran, Sunday Herald reported.
The bases in Bulgaria were suitable for attack on suspicious objects with Stealth bombers or smart bombs, UK’s Sunday Herald said.
A group of US aircraft-carriers had already accosted in the Persian Gulf and another group is on its way. A third group of aircraft-carriers will also be sent in the same direction soon, the newspaper said.
US president Georges Bush denied plans for attacking Iran, but on February 24 2007 vice president Richard B. Cheney said that all options came under discussion.
The US presence in the Persian Gulf sends a message that the US will undertake measures if Iran refused to cease its nuclear programme, Sunday Herald reported.
The five permanent members of United Nations Security Council will meet on February 26 in London in a final attempt to prevent the development of the Iranian nuclear programme, Sunday Herald said.
