Bulgaria has achieved significant progress in reforming the judicial sphere, US ambassador to Bulgaria John Beyrle said.
Beyrle told Darik Radio that the country had executed significant structural and procedural reforms to make judiciary more efficient. Trust in the judicial system, however, remained low, he added.
Prosecutor-General Boris Velchev took all the necessary steps to reform the judiciary like the dismissal of allegedly corrupt magistrates, Beyrle said. He was certain the Cabinet had the will to fight organised crime and that politicians remained uninvolved in the organised crime groups, Darik reported.
