Archaeologists found a unique utensil for storing wine near Bulgaria’s coastal town of Sozopol, Bulgarian news agency BTA said, as quoted by Dnevnik daily.
The utensil had the shape of a woman’s head with beautiful regular features and a Greek nose, Dnevnik said.
The utensil was 2500 years old and was found in a woman’s grave.
Last week archaeologists found a sword and gold ring in a neighbouring grave, Dnevnik said.
The excavations were part of the initiative to rescue Sozopol’s coastal line from excessive construction.
The area where the graves were found was unique because a 2300-year-old necropolis, medieval graveyard and church were built in the same place, Dnevnik said.
