Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) leader Plamen Yuroukov said mayor Boiko Borissov was to blame for Sofia's waste crisis, zagrada.bg reported.
According to Yuroukov the ecological bomb in Sofia kept ticking.
“Two years ago Borissov promised that in 2-years time the plant for refuse processing would be built. During this time, however, not even the pre-project research for its construction started. When one builds a plant, there are specific procedures which the administration has to know. If they had asked me, I would have told them, because I know how a plant is built,” Yuroukov explained.
According to Yuroukov at least another year would be lost because of the pre-project procedure delay, zagrada.bg said. And the one to blame was Boiko Borissov who could not make his administration work, Yuroukov said.
“When one saddles himself with the task to run a European capital, he should first learn how to govern,” Yuroukov said, as he wished Borissov and his administration luck.
“I suppose what Plamen Yuroukov said is his assessment of the 10-year SDS government of Sofia,” Borissov replied, adding he worked and would keep working to eliminate Sofia's weaknesses.
