The trend of decrease of unemployment in Bulgaria continued in August 2007, National Employment Agency said.
The unemployment was seven per cent in August 2007.
Summer seasonal employment, employment programmes and encouraging measures were responsible for the lower unemployment rates, the Agency said as quoted by Focus news agency.
The total number of registered unemployed dropped to 259 310 in August 2007.
The current figure is a drop by 64 450 August 2006, and 9 136 lower from July 2007.
Bulgaria’s unemployment rate was reaching EU’s average rates, National Employment Agency said.
Unemployment in the capital of Sofia dropped to 1.71 per cent. The maximum unemployment registered in the country is 15.18 per cent.
In August 2007, labour bureaus offered 20 177 work places, 6 811 more that in July 2007.
