UK investment fund Equest Investment Bulgaria Ltd (EIB) will purchase the shares of Rila Samokov 2004, one of the shareholders of the Super Borovets project.

EIB had already paid a guarantee in advance to Rila Samokov 2004’s shareholder Glavbolgarstroy, Focus news agency reported.

The deal between Glavbolgarstroy and EIB is to be concluded soon. It will make EIB majority owner of Rila Samokov 2004.

Samokov municipality will keep its 25 per cent share in Super Borovets project, Focus said.

EIB and Glavbolgarstroy said that they planned to launch the project execution very soon. The companies will provide the investment, technical and human resources needed.

The project includes the construction of 80km of ski tracks, new lifts and a hotel base with more than 15 000 beds. The new ski facilities will have the capacity of 30 000 to 35 000 people per hour.

The infrastructure of the whole region will be developed because of the Super Borovets project.
