Leader of Bulgarian right wing party Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) Petar Stoyanov traveled to Brussels where he will attend a session of the European People's Party (EPP).
Among the topics to be discussed is the energy policies of the European union, focus news agency reported.
Stoyanov is expected to discuss with EPP leaders the trial of the five Bulgarian nurses sentenced to death for intentional HIV infection in Libya.
UDF's leader is also to meet European Parliament rapporteur for Bulgaria Geoffrey Van Orden.
EU is to see other initiatives related to the trial of the five nurses. A Bulgarian representative to one of the European Council's permanent working groups will distribute coloured stripes carrying the slogan You are Not Alone, under which the campaign in support of the nurses is carried out.
