After a man tried to shoot dead alleged drug distributor Dimitar Vouchev on the morning of December 6, a second shooting the same day targeted another alleged criminal.
Radoslav Velkov was wounded in a shooting on Tsar Boris III Boulevard in the centre of Sofia shortly before 5pm, Focus news agency reported.
An ambulance took Velkov immediately to the Military-Medical Academy. His life is under threat, as Velkov was shot in the head. Doctors are examining him to determine whether Velkov can undergo surgery.
Velkov has criminal record and was allegedly connected to murder threats, explosions and drug trafficking.
According to Interior Ministry information Velkov was accompanied by a woman, who said she was his lawyer. The woman was interrogated.
Police are looking for a connection between the two shootings. Vouchev was assaulted this morning but was not harmed in the shooting.
