The hospitality sector in Bulgaria lacked qualified workers, Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA) head Blagoy Ragin said during a seminar on professional training.
Investment in human resources was extremely important, Ragin said as quoted by Focus news agency.
He suggested universities to make a list of students taking tourism-related courses and willing to work in seaside resorts during the summer season. Ragin said that BHRA members would provide workplaces.
The tourism sector in Bulgaria is two times more developed than the other economic sectors.
GDP had to increase and infrastructure investment was needed so that the tourism sector could offer its production at its real price, Ragin said.
Currently Bulgarian tourism products were sold at lower prices than their actual value.
