Bulgaria's State Agency for Tourism (SAT) wants take control over the issuing of construction permits in resorts, SAT head Mario al Djebouri said.

Over-construction in the resorts could be stopped in this manner al Djebouri said as quoted by mediapool.bg. Responsibility for the construction had to be focused in one place, he said.

The Regional Development and Public Works Ministry, Agriculture and Forestry Ministry, Environment and Water Affairs Ministry and municipal administrations control construction, but passed responsibility to each other, al Djebouri told private channel bTV.

By the end of 2006 SAT would present its new strategy for promotion of Bulgaria as a tourism destination, mediapool.bg said.

The new strategy emphasises on new spa, balneology, golf and culture tourism.
