InvestBulgaria Agency presented the amount of foreign investment made in Bulgaria for the period from 1992 to 2006 at the international financial exhibition in Plovdiv.
The top ten investors were awarded honorary diplomas, which were given by InvestBulgaria Agency executive director Stoian Stalev, Focus News agency reported.
Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Italy and the Czech Republic feature among the top investors in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria raised four billion euro foreign direct investments in 2006, which is more than a quarter of all foreign investments for the past 16 years, Stalev said.
Stalev said that he was content with the high interest coming from investors from European Union and the US. Those countries started to accept Bulgaria as an important partner long before its EU accession, Stalev said.
