Тhe Cabinet was doing everything possible to prevent the introduction of safeguard clauses after Bulgaria's EU entry and it was early to discuss such clauses, European Integration Minister Meglena Kouneva said.
Kouneva met Bulgarian observers to the European Parliament, Darik Radio reported. January 1 2007 was the only date discussed within parties represented in the EP, Kouneva said.
Bulgaria's EU accession treaty ratification process was progressing well and would finish in time, Darik Radio reported.
An EU expert inspection of Bulgaria's measures against corruption and organised crime started this week. Kouneva said that the acceptance of a law forcing state officials declare assets publicly was an important signal for EU.
