Sir
As someone who works in the travel/food industry I attended World Travel Market November 07 and I have to concur with the article (2007 in Review, Trends in Tourism, The Sofia Echo, January 4 2008). There have been huge improvements made throughout the whole of the UK in fact. I find it refreshing that tourism on the whole is begining to realise that the world is now their competition and as this is the case each destination requires something unique and memorable.
Of course you don’t have to look far for that, no, it isn’t the castles, the beaches or museums, although they are important. I am speaking about culinary culture, it really is as simple as that. What better way to learn about a culture and its people that around a table sharing food? However, each destination needs to market on a global format rather than small individualised ones in order to get heard. CULINARY TOURISM is the latest niche that has been missed, now is the time to capitalise on this wonderful and unique attraction!
