Tishman International Companies chairman Alan Levy has been named honorary Bulgarian consul for Palm Springs, a resort town known for its retirees and grassy lawns in the middle of the Southern California desert.
The decision was made the morning of August 21 2008, at a regular Cabinet session of the Bulgarian Government in Sofia.
Levy, it was written on government.bg, was awarded a certificate of first class foreign investor in Bulgaria for 2007, conferred by the Agency Foreign Investments, for his role in bringing Tishman International to the country. Tishman is an international real estate management firm; it has been present in Bulgaria for four years. Its projects here include the 250 million euro Sofia Airport Center and the TNT facility.
In his role as honorary Bulgarian consul for Southern California, Levy will work to increase relations between the United States and Bulgaria, defend the rights of Bulgarians living in the area and sweeten the image of Bulgaria in the US.
