Three of Sofia's major neighbourhoods, Belite Brezi, Krasno Selo and Borovo, will have no hot water today, October 2 2008, Sofia's heating utility Toplofikatsiya said. The reason was repairs, they told Bulgarian news agency BTA.
Hot water should be restored as of midnight.
In other news, Toplofikatsiya started getting ready to turn on the central heating in Sofia on October 1 2008. According to the company's regulations, if daily temperatures on three consecutive days are below 12 degrees and the long-term weather forecast predicts cold weather, the heating will be turned on.
As in previous years the first to get the heat will be kindergartens, hospitals, schools and other public buildings and then residential buildings. As of July 31 2008, Toplofikatsiya's subscribers totalled 404 754.
