Bulgarian football fans experienced a great evening on August 30 2007 when three football teams managed to gain victory over their rivals and rank for the first round of UEFA cup.

CSKA played against Cyprus’ Omonia. CSKA had to wait until the last minute of the match to eliminate its rival with 2:1. The total result from the two matches is 3:2 for CSKA, Focus news agency reported.

Another Bulgarian team that will continue competing for the UEFA cup is Litex. It defeated Albanian Besa 3:0 at the local stadium in the town of Lovech. The first match with Albania ended with the same result in favour of Litex.

Sofia’s football team Lokomotiv showed exceptional maturity and managed to keep its lead from the first match over Romanian Otelul Galeti. They finished even with total result 3:1 and continued in the next stage of the competition.
