Bulgaria’s two main Black Sea ports, in Varna and Bourgas, were closed on January 14 because of the thick fog.
The ports were closed for all vessels. The visibility at Varna port was up to 150m, Transport and Communications Ministry said as quoted by Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).
At 9am Bourgas Airport was open and functioned under winter conditions, Varna Airport was also open.
Situation at Sofia Airport had normalised, after nine flights had been cancelled in the morning because of the fog, BGNES said.
Cancelled had been flights to Athens, Bologna, Vienna, Frankfurt, Milan and Munich.
Sofia airport press office said that despite the fog all flights were being serviced, though some flights had been delayed.
