A theatre performance in Sofia's Youth theatre marked the end of the project New Rehabilitation Methods for Hard of Hearing Children and Children with Cochlear Implants ended on October 15.
The project was organised by the Association of parents of children with hearing problems, Viva-Integratives Kindertheater from Vienna and the Sofia Municipality.
The 22 children which took part in the project, worked over a period of 10 months with actors, speech therapists, musicians and choreographers. The goal of the project was to increase the children's independence, persistence, ability to take responsibility and to respond to real life situations.
"I would like to thank most of all the children we saw on stage tonight and their parents for their perseverance and devotion with which they took part in the repetitions," Irina Papncheva, deputy mayor for healthcare, social policy and integration of people with disabilities, said.
