Serena Williams, left, got her revenge on older sister Venus for loosing in this year's Wimbledon final in the best way possible. On September 4 2008, the sisters met in the 2008 US tennis Open quarterfinal with Serena emerging as the winner. She took a two-set victory over her sister (7-6, 7-6), scoring her ninth win against Venus, who has prevailed eight times in their sibling rivalry.

“I think we played a great match today,” said Serena afterward, as quoted by usopen.org. “I just think it just boiled down to one point here and there. It could have went anywhere. I just think we were definitely playing the best so far."

Venus admitted that her sister was better on the day. "I've never had a match like this in my life,” she said. "I guess there's always a first. Yeah, she played a little better. She plays smart. I definitely feel like if it was someone else, I think that I definitely would have won the match.”

In the semis Serena will face Russia's, Dinara Safina who won against Italy's Flavia Pennetta (6-2, 6-2). The other semifinal couple is Elena Dementieva from Russia and Serbia's Jelena Jankovic.
