The Netherlands concluded the constitutional procedures over the ratification of Bulgaria and Romania's EU accession treaty.

On July 5 the act of the Dutch parliament, with which it ratified the treaty, would come into force after it was published in the State Gazette.

The ratification act was signed by Queen Beatrix, prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende and foreign minister Boot Meet. The act concludes the ratification procedures and the documents will be returned to Italy, the country which deposited them in the Dutch national assembly, by the end of July.
