Ivan Chevchibashiev, technical director of the Varna office of telecommunication company Spectre Net, was beaten up and stabbed with a knife on the evening of December 19. He was attacked by three men in front of his home, Dnevnik daily said.

Management of Spectre Net accused a competing firm of being behind the incident.

For several months there has been an extremely aggressive competition between various telecommunication companies in Varna.

In a statement, the Bulgarian Confederation of Employers and Industrialists and the Union for Electronic Communication expressed their disapproval of the incident and they called on the police and judiciary to do their work, Dnevnik daily said.
