Classes were resumed in most schools in Bulgaria on November 5 2007.

As schools are used as voting halls, in those towns where second rounds of the municipal elections had been held the day before, classes would resume on November 6 2007, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reported.

On November 2 2007, the teachers’ strike committee decided to cease the strike. Teachers had been protesting since September 24 2007, demanding higher salaries.

Still, the teachers would remain ready to start protesting again.

They announced they would hold their third national protest in the day the Parliament would discuss the 2008 budget.
