TAXIS MORE EXPENSIVE IN BULGARIA’S CAPITAL

New, higher prices of the taxis in Sofia have been introduced on October 1 2007.

The prices increased by more than 10 per cent, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reported.

The start price and the price for time waiting also went up.

According to BNR, a price increase has been introduced for both day-time and night-time fares.

Prices have gone up from 0.49 and 0.59 leva respectively to 0.59 and 0.7 leva.

In mid-September 2007, two of the OK Supertrans and Za Edno Evro taxi companies announced that the taxi prices would go up by 20 per cent by the end of the month.
