In the first 11 months of 2007, tax and social security contributions reached 10.3 billion leva. Proceeds from direct tax proceeds (income and corporate income tax) alone were 863 million leva higher than the same period a year ago. The sum of social security and health insurances was 608 million leva higher.
NRA head Maria Mourgina said that revenue collection this year was set to surpass the full-year target by 15 per cent, meaning 1.5 billion leva. The taxable profit for the year alone went up by 50 per cent, to 3.5 billion leva.
Revisions on tax and social security contributions have brought about an additional 760 million leva. The NRA has detected VAT fraud to the tune of 501 million leva and corporate tax violations to the equivalent of 200 million leva.
