TAX EXEMPT INCOME FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AT 600 LEVA

Tax-exempt income for people with disabilities was to be set at 660 leva per month, the parliamentary commission for budget and finances decided on December 6, Bulgarian National Radio said.

The commission accepted on second reading changed to the law on income taxation for private persons.

Annual tax-exempt income for people with 50 per cent or more decreased capacity to work was set at 7920 leva.

Tax-exempt income for certain other categories of income would continue to apply, but at a lower rate. Forty per cent for income derived from the sale of products of agriculture, fishing, hunting and forestry, copyrighted works, licences, inventions, works of science, culture and art, artistic performances and crafts, 25 per cent for self employed and freelance work and 10 per cent for managerial work and participation in controlling bodies.

Tax on dividend would be decreased from 7 to 5 per cent.

The difference in sales price between acquisition and sales of real estate would be free of taxes, irrespective of when the real estate had been purchased, the commission decided.

Small companies with an annual turnover of less than 200 000 leva would not have to make advance tax payments, the commission decided.
