Bulgarian marathon swimmer Petar Stoychev is already known to be the world cup winner two rounds before the end of the season, Darik Radio said.

Stoychev ranked third in the 10 km marathon in Hong Kong on October 1, but his score difference of 50 points with the second-best swimmer in the championship granted him the cup, Darik said.

Stoychev would be the first marathon swimmer in the history of this sport to win six world cups won, Darik said.

Recently Stoychev became the first Bulgarian swimmer to cross the English Channel. His time ranked the achievements as third best ever.
