Rescue teams managed to reach the tourists in the cabins of Temenouga and Paisii in Bulgaria's Stara Planina, Bulgarian news agency BTA quoted the director of Civil Defence in Stara Zaragora Veselin Kouzmanov as saying.
In the cabin of Temenouga, near the Bouzloudzja peak, eight people celebrated New Year's eve and waited six days for the road to be opened.
On January 6, a helicopter did not manage to deliver food because of the fog in the region. Rescue teams reached them later in the day and around 8pm they returned to their homes.
Eighteen were stranded in the cabin Paisii after New Year's eve. A plough from the mines at Maritsa Iztok managed to clean the roads to the cabin on January 6, BTA said.
