STILIAN PETROV RETURNS AS BULGARIA’S FOOTBALL TEAM CAPTAIN AGAINST WALES
15:01 Tue 21 Aug 2007

Former Bulgarian national football team captain Stilian Petrov will play again head of the team in the friendly match against Wales on August 22 2007.

The match will take place in Bourgas at the Lazur stadium at 8:00pm, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

If Stilian Petrov is replaced during the game Martin Petrov will succeed him.

Partov redigned the national team after disagreements with former coach Hristo Stoitchkov.

National football team captain will remain Dimitar Berbatov who was recently injured and will not be able to play against Wales.

Georgi Chilikov was urgently called to fill in the gap in Bulgaria’s attack after Berbatov and Valeri Bojinov’s injuries. Bojinov was injured in the beginning of Manchester City’s match against Manchester United.

Bojinov will allegedly be absent from the football field by the end of 2007.

National football team coach Dimitar Penev will give an official press conference before the match against Wales.
