
Summer season 2007 will be officially opened on April 20 in the coastal resort of Golden Sands. In 2007, Golden Sands celebrates 50 years since its setting up.
Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev said that he will attend the opening of the tourism season.
Before the opening of the season, the National Tourism Board will hold a summit, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
From April 23 to 28 the State Agency for Tourism (SAT) will host a spa and wellness tourism seminar. Representatives of Central and East European countries will attend the forum. Some of the countries that confirmed their participation include Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia and Macedonia.
Meanwhile the Interior Ministry said that it planned to introduce stricter security measures in Bulgaria’s coastal resorts.
Nearly 60 more policemen will work during the summer in the coastal city of Bourgas. Sunny Beach resort will get a video monitoring system to ensure the security of tourists.
