The traditional sportsperson of the year awards ceremony will take place on December 18.
Athletes will receive awards in six different categories, managing director of Bulgarian Sport foundation Tseno Tsenov said.
Some of the categories include achievement of the year, long-term commitment, prominent young athlete, breakthrough achievement and team of the year, BGNES Sport agency reported.
A number of Bulgarian athletes received nominations for the well-known and prestigious sports event.
Wrestling champion Stanka Zlateva and short track Olympic medal winner Evgenia Radanova were nominated for annual achievement.
The national men's volleyball team is named team of the year after it won bronze medal from the volleyball world championship in Japan. Bulgaria wins medals from such event for the first time in the past 20 years.
Other athletes to be honoured include figure skating world champions Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski, biathlon competitor Ekaterina Dafovska, and junior athlete Tezdzhan Naimova.
