Special units would be added to all regional offices of the prosecution in Bulgaria, Prosecutor-General Boris Velchev said.
The units would fight against corruption and organised crime, he said as quoted by Bulgarian news agency BTA.
A similar unit already exists in Sofia, but it will undergo staff change and will be expanded.
Velchev also said that he hoped amendments would be introduced to the Penalty Code, allowing investigation services to work on a wider range of cases.
The creation of an investigative criminal police department is being discussed, he said.
