Southampton University Symphony Orchestra (SUSO) has started a major tour of Bulgaria.

The concerts started on August 3 and will end on August 7, SUSO said.

The tour is taking place with the co-operation of Bulgarian symphony orchestra. Its programme includes visits to Sofia, Stara Zagora and Varna.

Classical music fans will be able to hear Shostakovich’s Symphony Number 5 and works from Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus.

SUSO was established in 1994 by some of the university’s most talented musicians. Its attractive and fascinating repertoire was worked out in recent years.

The orchestra has eight concerts a year.
