The information technology and mathematics faculty of Sofia University St Kliment Ohridsky, in collaboration with software company Musala Soft, have established an academy for IT leaders, the founders stated, as reported by Dnevnik.
The academy has courses for practical, business and science applications. It also hosts discussions presented by leaders in the IT sector from Bulgarian companies. Through these experts young scientists are able to learn inside information and secrets that would otherwise be unavailable.
The IT leaders Academy has an open format and is searching for lecturers with international experience and approach, as well as a strategic outlook for the future. Experts must be qualified in the aforementioned fields and be able to convey their knowledge to new IT scientists.
According to IDG.bg, the inaugural event gathered more that 100 future IT leaders as well as experts currently in the field. The first lecture for the day “Web 2.0 enablement, current technological trends and future of the World Wide Web” was presented by IBM Emerging Technologies Group, which is part of the seminar developed and presented by the group worldwide. The presenters were James Smith (founder, manager- Customer Innovation Team, IBM), Ed Elze (strategy manager - Customer Innovation Team, IBM), Samuel Thompson (founder IBM's Emerging Technologies Start (jump start) group), Fiodar Zboichyk (technical solutions architect - Customer Innovation Team, IBM) as well as Anislav Atanasov, chief software engineer in Musala Soft.

Sofia University’s Faculty for Information Technology and Computer Sciences is the oldest and most respected establishment in Bulgaria.
