Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB), unofficially led by Sofia major Boiko Borissov, is the most popular party in Bulgaria, a national centre for public opinion poll showed.
CEDB would receive 23 per cent of the votes if the there were parliament elections in the end of July 2007, the poll said as quoted by Focus news agency.
Former front-runner Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) would receive 17 per cent of the votes.
The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), which shared the first places in the European Parliament members’ election in May 2007, would receive nine per cent of the votes.
According to the public’s opinion, the ultra-nationalist movement Ataka ranked fourth.
Rightist parties National Movement for Stability and Progress (NMSP), Union of Democratic Forces and Democrats for Strong Bulgaria would have received less votes than needed to receive a place in the Parliament, the poll said.
CEDB managed to attract votes from NMSP, BSP and Ataka, Focus said.
