Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov sacked the head of the city hall's inspectorate, Galen Ganchev, the press service of the Sofia municipality said on February 26 2008.
Insufficient control over the work of Sofia's cleaning services concessionaires and the incapability to organise the inspectorate's work were the main reasons cited for the dismissal.
Ganchev was thought to be one of Borissov's closest aides, leaving his job at the Interior Ministry in 2006 to take charge of the inspectorate, Dnevnik daily reported.
