Mid-level positions were best paid in Sofia, while in Plovdiv and Bourgas salaries were 20 per cent lower, an Industry Watch report on the labour price in Bulgaria said.
The second largest city in Bulgaria, Varna, offered the second highest salaries for similar positions, investor.bg reported.
Mid-level were positions, which allow the employees to change companies and institutions easily, if they wanted to acquire new knowledge. The typical mid-level position would be aged between 25 and 45, speak base-level English language and could easily adapt to a new environment and to new functions.
The report considers data for the labour price in the country in August 2007.
Besides differences in salaries, expenses differed in the various cities in Bulgaria. Living in Sofia was most expensive, followed by Varna, Bourgas, Stara Zagora and Plovdiv, investor.bg said.
Residents of Plovdiv and Stara Zagora could buy 12 per cent more products per lev compared to those of Sofia.
