18:29 Wed 31 Oct 2007

Sofia City Court will hear on November 1 the case against former examining magistrate Mariya Ilieva, Bulgarian news agency (BTA) said.

Ilieva has been accused of appropriating 5011 leva and $420. The money was evidence in a blackmail case she was investigating.

According to the prosecutor, the crime was committed in between April 2002 and February 2006.

Ilieva was originally accused of illegal possession of drugs and weapons. After a search at her house, the theft of which she has now been accused, was established, the prosecutor said.

This woman not only is a crook, but has shamed her herself. Not unusual for Bulgarian's in power, but as a human she should live a life of humiliation.
