SOFIA CITY COURT POSTPONED CASE AGAINST VOLEN SIDEROV
14:49 Wed 05 Dec 2007 - Spasena Baramova

The Sofia City Court postponed the hearing in the case against Ataka leader Volen Siderov and his wife Kapka Georgieva, a Focus News Agency reporter said.

The case was postponed when Georgieva did not show up in court because of health problems.

The next hearing in the case was set for February 21, Focus News Agency said.

Siderov told journalists that the case was politically motivated and clearly a fabrication. “Ask the witnesses and most of all, ask Pavel Chernev why they committed perjury and why they want me to suffer,” Siderov said.

Chernev, on his part, said that after the Trakiya highway incident, he tried to get all members of parliament from Ataka's parliamentary group involved in the perjury, in order to defend a common cause.
Chernev said he committed perjury because he deeply believed in the cause.

The cause ended up being betrayed, but not by me, Chernev added, as he explained why he was the Ataka MP to commit perjury, Focus News Agency reported.

“I made my mistake and am paying for it,” Chernev said.
