A number of key streets and boulevards and Sofia will be closed for repairs in the first two weeks of July, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on behalf of Sofia's police directorate on June 30.
Traffic in both directions of Sofia's ring road, between St Kliment Ohridski and Simeonovsko Chaussee boulevards, will be closed until July 8. Ami Bue Street, between intersections with Ivan Geshov boulevard and Bogdanovi street is closed until July 7. Strahil Voyvoda street, between intersections Tsar Ivan Asen II and Petar Delyan streets is closed until July 6.
The northern lane of 202nd street at Nadezhda overpass will be closed on July 8-10, with all traffic switched to the southern lane.
All traffic on Simeonovsko Chaussee boulevard between the suburb of Simeonovo and the village of Bistritsa will be restricted to one lane until August 15, with temporary traffic controls in place.
The restriction on trucks carrying concrete on Tsarigradsko Chaussee, Peyo Yavorov, Nikola Vaptsarov, Dragan Tsankov and Cherni Vruh boulevards, as well as Sveti Naum street, remains in place.
The traffic control department of Sofia's police department has advised residents and visitors to the city to choose detour routes whenever the option is available.
