Bulgarian snowboard competitors Teodora Pencheva and Alexandra Zhekova ranked 21st and 34th respectively in the parallel slalom first round of the European Cup championship held in Austria’s Bad Gastein.
Zhekova took part twice in the finals in the World Cup championship but performed less convincingly during the European Cup start. She gained 11 points, while Pencheva’s position granted her 50 points, BGNES Sport agency reported.
The 19-year old Zhekova is seen as Bulgaria’s best snowboarder at the moment. In the world cup parallel slalom she ranked 15th.
Also this season, Zhekova registered her best performance for the season, ranking 12th. Her previous parallel slalom achievement is 22nd position from the Olympic Games in Torino.
